and Mra. Reuben Chap man. IV, of Hunts ville were mar ried Saturday evening in an lm presslv ceremony performed in the Chapel of the First Methodist Church of Fort Smith, by the Rev. Fred C. Roebuck.

For her wedding Miss King wore a stunning royal blue costume suit trimmed in sequins and lined with American beauty aatln. Her smart black hat waa trimmed in match Ing aequlna and her corsage was of American beauty roses. Mr. and Mrs. Chapman are de scendants Of families long promi nent in social, political and educa tional life throughout the state.

Mrs. Chapman's grandparents are the lata Mr. and Mrs, Joseph Henry Lumpkin King of Marlon and Anniston and Mrs. Frank W. Brandon of Atlanta and the late Dr.

Brandon, a former minister of the First Methodist Church Anniston. Mr. Chapman's grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Chapman, III of Huntsville rhd the late Mr.

and Mrs. Joseph A. Ga-boury of Jacksonville. The bride is a graduate of Pine Crest School in FL Lauderdale, and attended Mt. Vernon College in Washington, D.

and the University of Miami, where she was affiliated with Chi Omega social sorority. Mr. Chapman Is a graduate of Columbia Military Institute, in Columbia. and attended Jacksonville State College and Vanderbllt where he a member of Beta Theta Pi social fraternity. At the present time he is with the United States Army at Camp Chaffee, where he is attending leadership school.

She told the mm. brilliant new American Association of University Women held its annual membership luncheon Saturday.

Sept. 11. at 1 o'clock at the YMCA. Orer aeventy AAUW women were present. Mlsa Yancy Bailey and Miss Mary Elisabeth Lloyd greeted each member at the door with a name-card and the name of the university from which she graduated.

The luncheon tables were decorated with lovely Fall motif place cards, which again repeated the Individual alma maters. After luncheon, the President. Mrs. Frank Sewell. gave a word of greeting to, all new and old members.

She then Introduced the officers of the local branch to the group: Miss Mary Elizabeth Lloyd, first vice president; Miss Mary Bernhard, membership chairman; Mt Mary Francla wards, Mrs. James Saunders, treasurer, and Mrs. Robert Good, publicity chairman. degree from Limestone College, her M. A. from Mercer University. She Is at present the first vice president of the Alabama Division of AAUW, is past president of the' Auburn Branch, and a former president of the Alabama Association of Women Dcani and Dean Cater gave a most comprehensive view of the American Association of University Women.
