on TWO THE ANNISTON STAR SUNDAY, AUGUST 31, 1927 POWER COMPANY EMPLOYES GIVE ANNUAL PICNIC Lavish Affair Staged at Oxford Lake: More Than 200 in Attendance fore than 200 employes of the Alabama Power company engaged in the Anniston operations of the company were guests at an Annual banquet given by the power company Friday, afternoon and evening at Oxford Lake. The feature of the day's program was the racing contests. A swimming race, race, boat race, dive foot, three -legged race, were held and teams representing the eastern division, the Anniston operationa, the gas plant and the railway department, participated. The Eastern division team won the most points in the eventa and accordingly received a handsome loving cup. J.

T. Jackson, manager of the Anniston office of the company, was master of ceremonies. It was expected that several of company officials from Birmingham would come over as usual and attend the picnic. However the sudden death of Mrs. R.

A. Mitchell, wife of the vice president of the company made It impossible for them to attend.
